Biography

Emanuel Austin was born on the 27th October 1990 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and has been living with his parents in Germany since 1996.
Music and dancing fascinated him very early on. At the age of five, he started imitating Michael Jackson with his friend Gregory Msusa and passionately danced to Hip Hop music. Apart from Salsa and Hip Hop, at the age of 15, he also became interested into Rap.
Through his friends Pokaface, Furuiz and Jermain of Rapcore he learned about professional rapping. He also had his first performances at concerts with them. At that time, he rapped together with Marcirecords, a mixed group with different talents. In 2006, Marcirecords won the public’s choice award “Best Newcomer” at a competition in Hanau, Germany.

In 2002, his parents founded the Salsa school “Salsa Si” in Großkrotzenburg near Frankfurt. There he learned how to dance Salsa, which he now teaches himself.

From 2005 on, he worked with his father Louis Austin on a Salsa project for children. Both dance Salsa and other Caribbean dances with passion. Emanuel has been teaching Salsa Cubana, Merengue and Bachata. “Salsa-Si is no ordinary dancing school, neither does it want to be one.” Nevertheless, they taught authentic Cuban moves in a relaxed atmosphere. Louis and Emanuel often spent several weeks in Cuba and came back with the latest moves. Regularly, they organized Salsa parties for all Salsa addicted or those that might like to become such. Salsa Cubana is currently offered by Louis Austin in the North of Germany.

In 2007, he shot his first video in Cuba for the track “Put your hands up” of his first album of the same title. The album has been produced by DJ Verde.

In early 2008, he recorded a song together with the singer Hope in Hamburg, Germany. His next music video, called “Master of the Game”, was produced by Axel Breitung and ran on popular European musical TV channels such as VIVA, MTV and Yavido. Furthermore, he performed as a background dancer for big stars like Don Omar.
Also in 2008, he began an apprenticeship for becoming a dancing instructor at the dancing school “Tanzschule Weiss” in Offenbach, Germany with majors in children’s dance, Hip Hop, Discofox and Salsa Cubana.

Emanuel completed the same officially in 2012 which has been certified by the ADTV (Common German Dancing Instructors’ Association).

Based on his passion for dancing, he started working as judge at Salsa dancing competitions in 2016 and became Northern German champion in Solo Hip Hop Dancing in 2017.

Today, he is the co-leader of the dancing school “Tanzschule Weiss” in Offenbach. For him it is especially important to provide a broad offer for dancers of all ages. Recently, he teaches courses in Standard and Latin dance, Hip Hop, and Salsa for many levels of difficulty as well as courses for children of any age.

Besides his passion for dancing, Emanuel is a singer-songwriter and has already published four titles internationally. His latest song “Long Time” from 2017 has even cracked the mark of 100,000 clicks on YouTube.
